Connect OpenClaw to Meta Ads
Let an OpenClaw agent pull performance insights, create campaigns and update budgets in Meta Ads, with no credentials handed to the agent.
Meta Ads is the advertising platform behind Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and the Audience Network, and for most consumer businesses it is the largest line in the marketing budget. Managing it means living in Ads Manager: pulling yesterday’s numbers into a spreadsheet, spotting the ad set whose cost per result doubled overnight, duplicating a campaign structure for a new product, and pausing what is not working before the budget is gone. The reporting alone can eat the first hour of every day.
With Claworc’s External Connections, an OpenClaw agent can work
inside a Meta Ads account on your behalf. You sign in to Meta once through a popup,
Composio holds the resulting token, and the agent gets an auto-generated claworc-metaads
skill that tells it which Meta Ads tools exist and how to call them. The agent never sees a
password, an OAuth token or an API key.
Tools available to OpenClaw agents
Section titled “Tools available to OpenClaw agents”Composio’s Meta Ads toolkit exposes 50 actions. In practice an OpenClaw agent leans on a handful of capabilities:
- Find your ad accounts — list the ad accounts the connected user can access, which the agent needs before anything else.
- Pull performance insights — spend, impressions, clicks, results and cost per result for an account, campaign, ad set or ad over any date range.
- Inventory ad sets and ads — enumerate what is running in an account with its status and settings.
- Build campaign structure — create the campaign, ad set and ads from a brief, so a new launch does not start from a blank Ads Manager.
- Upload images and creatives — upload an image and turn it into a creative with copy and a destination link.
- Pause, resume or rebudget — change a campaign’s name, status or budget, which is how the agent pauses or scales.
- Search targeting options — look up interests, behaviours and locations when defining an audience.
Every action goes through a small broker running next to the agent, so the agent only needs to describe what it wants done in plain language and let the skill handle the rest.
Use cases
Section titled “Use cases”Daily performance digest
Section titled “Daily performance digest”Every morning the agent pulls insights for yesterday and the previous seven days at the campaign and ad set level, then sends you a short note: total spend, cost per result by campaign, and anything that moved more than 25 percent against its weekly average. You see the outliers before you open Ads Manager.
Launch a campaign from a brief
Section titled “Launch a campaign from a brief”“Create a traffic campaign for the autumn sale, 50 a day, targeting people in the UK interested in hiking, using these three images and this copy.” The agent creates the campaign and ad set, searches targeting options, uploads the images, builds a creative for each and creates the ads, leaving the campaign paused for you to review and switch on.
Budget guardrails
Section titled “Budget guardrails”Ask the agent to check insights twice a day and pause any campaign whose cost per result has been above your threshold for two consecutive checks, then tell you what it paused and why. You set the rule in plain language; the agent applies it by updating the campaign’s status.
Get started
Section titled “Get started”Connecting Meta Ads takes three steps: an admin adds a Composio API key to Claworc’s
settings, you open the instance’s Settings tab, click + Add connection, pick
Meta Ads and sign in to Meta. The claworc-metaads skill appears in the instance a
moment later. The full walkthrough, including the exact Composio permissions the key
needs, is in the External Connections documentation.
