Connect OpenClaw to Google Ads
Let an OpenClaw agent report on Google Ads campaigns, adjust budgets and ad groups, and manage customer lists, with no credentials handed to the agent.
Google Ads is where most businesses buy search, display, video and shopping placements. Marketing teams and agencies live in it: checking spend against budget, pausing what is not converting, building audiences and pulling the same performance report every Monday. The interface is powerful, but a lot of the routine work is repetitive — open the account, filter to last week, export, paste into a sheet, repeat for the next client.
With Claworc’s External Connections, an OpenClaw agent can work
inside your Google Ads account on your behalf. You sign in to Google once through a
popup, Composio holds the resulting token, and the agent gets an auto-generated
claworc-googleads skill that tells it which Google Ads tools exist and how to call
them. The agent never sees a password, an OAuth token or an API key.
Tools available to OpenClaw agents
Section titled “Tools available to OpenClaw agents”Composio’s Google Ads toolkit exposes 28 tools. These are the ones an OpenClaw agent reaches for most often:
- Find accessible accounts — list the customer accounts the signed-in user can reach, which is how the agent finds the right account under a manager (MCC) login.
- Run GAQL reports — run a Google Ads Query Language query and stream back every row. This is the workhorse for reporting: impressions, clicks, cost and conversions by campaign, ad group, keyword or day.
- Look up campaigns by name — refer to a campaign the way you do in conversation instead of by ID.
- Manage campaigns and budgets — create, update, pause or remove campaigns and change their budgets in batch.
- Manage ad groups — create, update or remove ad groups inside a campaign.
- Maintain customer lists — build remarketing audiences and keep their membership in sync.
Every tool is called through a small broker running next to the agent, so the agent only needs to describe what it wants done in plain language and let the skill handle the rest.
Use cases
Section titled “Use cases”Monday performance report
Section titled “Monday performance report”“Give me last week’s spend, clicks, conversions and cost per conversion for every active campaign, compared with the week before.” The agent writes the GAQL, runs it for each account, and returns a table with the deltas called out. Ask it to post the same report every Monday and the export-and-paste routine disappears.
Guard the budget
Section titled “Guard the budget”Ask the agent to check daily spend against the monthly budget and, if a campaign is on track to overspend, lower its daily budget and tell you what it changed. If you would rather approve first, have it report and wait for a yes before it mutates anything.
Keep audiences current
Section titled “Keep audiences current”“Add everyone who signed up this week to the trial-users list.” The agent takes the contacts you hand it, or pulls them from another connected service, and updates the audience membership, so your remarketing lists stop lagging a month behind your CRM.
Get started
Section titled “Get started”Connecting Google Ads takes three steps: an admin adds a Composio API key to Claworc’s
settings, you open the instance’s Settings tab, click + Add connection, pick
Google Ads and sign in to Google. The claworc-googleads skill appears in the instance a
moment later. The full walkthrough, including the exact Composio permissions the key
needs, is in the External Connections documentation.
