Connect OpenClaw to Ahrefs
Let an OpenClaw agent pull backlinks, organic keywords, top pages and competitor data from Ahrefs, with no credentials handed to the agent.
Ahrefs is one of the main SEO platforms: a large backlink index, keyword research data, rank tracking and site audits, used by in-house SEO teams, agencies and content marketers. The workaround is mostly reporting. Someone exports the new backlinks every week, checks which keywords slipped out of the top ten, pulls a competitor’s top pages to find content gaps, and pastes all of it into a deck. Ahrefs has the data; assembling it is the chore.
With Claworc’s External Connections, an OpenClaw agent can query
Ahrefs on your behalf. You connect your Ahrefs account once through a popup, Composio
holds the resulting token, and the agent gets an auto-generated claworc-ahrefs skill
that tells it which Ahrefs tools exist and how to call them. The agent never sees a
password, an OAuth token or an API key.
Tools available to OpenClaw agents

- Site overview metrics — the headline numbers for any domain: organic traffic, ranking keywords, referring domains and Domain Rating.
- Organic keywords — the keywords a site ranks for, with position, search volume and the ranking URL, for your own site or a competitor’s.
- Top pages by traffic — a site’s pages ordered by organic traffic, which is the fastest way to see what content actually performs.
- Backlinks and referring domains — the full backlink list and the domains it comes from, filtered by date so new links stand out.
- Broken backlinks — links pointing at pages on your site that now return errors, which are the easiest wins to reclaim.
- Keyword research — volume, difficulty and related terms for a seed keyword.
- Competitors and SERPs — who else ranks for your keywords and what the results page looks like for one of them.
Every tool is called through a small broker running next to the agent, so the agent only needs to describe what it wants done in plain language and let the skill handle the rest.
Use cases

Section titled “Weekly SEO snapshot”Ask the agent every Monday to pull site metrics, the current organic keyword list and the referring domains for your domain, compare each to last week’s run, and send a short note: Domain Rating, traffic estimate, keywords that entered or left the top ten, and new referring domains worth looking at. The deck updates itself.
Content gap analysis
Section titled “Content gap analysis”“Compare our top pages with competitor.com and list the topics they rank for that we don’t.” The agent fetches organic keywords and top pages for both domains, finds the keywords where the competitor ranks and you do not, groups them by topic and adds volume and difficulty from the keyword tools so you can pick the ones worth writing.
Reclaim broken backlinks
Section titled “Reclaim broken backlinks”Have the agent fetch broken backlinks for your site, group them by the target URL that now 404s, and suggest a redirect for each based on your current sitemap. You get a ready list of redirects to add, and the link equity you were quietly losing comes back.

settings, you open the instance’s Settings tab, click + Add connection, pick
